Yukon Pack

We watched "The Alaska Experiment" on the Discovery Channel the other night. That got Elijah's brain a-swirling with ideas....hiking ideas. Taking his comforter off his bed along with several men's ties, he figured out how to make his own Yukon Pack. Before folding it, he filled it with several hiking essentials: a flashlight, sword, water bottle, cup, cell phone and snacks. This boy is longing for the day he and his brothers are old enough to hike the "Apple Glaze Trail" with daddy (ahem...that would be the Appalachian Trail). Daddy has promised that when the boys are old enough, they will head out on this adventure and hike a good portion of the trail. Until that day arrives, Elijah will most certainly continue studying his survival guide/handbook and making great plans. Oh, to be 7 years old again dreaming about my never-ending bucket list...

...and to be 7 years old again with scrawny chicken legs...
