Camo Draw String Bags and Rock Kits

The kiddos and I found fantastic deals at Joann's the other day...a huge assortment of science and craft kits marked on clearance for $3.97-$5.97. Most of the kits retailed for $15.99-$17.99 at regular price. I picked up a few kits for them to play with and a few others to set aside as birthday gifts.

The boys (all three of them...yay!) went to their first overnight birthday party this past weekend and the party boy received a Rock and Gem Dig Kit. I whipped up (literally, in about 10 minutes) these camouflage draw string bags - the larger to hold his hammer, pointed dowel, goggles, magnifying glass, etc. and the smaller to hold his newly dug rocks and gems!

This must be one of the least expensive birthday gifts we've ever given!!!

Rock and Gem Kit - $3.97

Camouflage fabric - free (in a bag of fabrics passed my way)

Shoe laces - $0.39 thrifted

Total cost - $4.36 plus tax and 10 minutes of my time (at the absolute last second when we should have already been on the road, of course...ha, ha!)
