Vintage Sheets

Did you know there is a whole population of crafting and sewing ladies out in blogland that reuse vintage sheets for projects? Yeah, neither did I! Until recently!!! I'm not quite sure how I stumbled upon this group of gals but I am loving the inspiration and color feast! I've started browsing my thrift stores to find sheets and I've found a few to start my collection. The highest price I've paid is $1.99 for a full size flat sheet...that's a lot of yardage for cheap and pretty! I am hoping to find more pinks and a few with some serious 60's flower power!

Here are a few of my favorites ideas but these are simply the pictures and ideas I've stumbled across today! There are quite a few pictures that I'm racking my brain and searching blog after blog to find again!
Whimsie Dots - this bib is for sale!!!

Imagine using this idea as a curtain in my Sadie Katie's room...so sweet and frilly! Or a shower curtain???!!!

I had a conversation with my hubby about reclaiming sheets and I got the impression that he thinks it's a little gross. I guess since I purchase and wear a lot of things from thrift stores, it doesn't seem that much different to me. I have a washer and dryer. So, I win (said in the most respectful way!). Besides, I'm really drawn the floral ones and I don't think I'll ever be inspired to sew him a floral vintage sheet quilt :o) !!!

"So I win."

Hahahaha. I can just imagine you saying it with a smile on your face and a sparkle in your eyes.

I love the idea. We actually have a set of vintage sheets for our king sized bed that are "back up" if all the other sheets are piled up in the traffic jam of laundry piles. The flowers are orange and green.

Vintage is now what I got for wedding gifts! I think I remember taking sheets similar to these (The ones with pink flowers would have made a sweet ruffled window cover for Sadie's room!) to the goodwill. Someone may be grabbing up my give aways for their newest project! Funny!!!!

yeah, you! you have crossed over to the vintage sheet side! That ruffle quilt is cute! I was actually thinking shower curtain when I saw the picture of it. But totally cute for a window curtain. I be it would be a fun one to sew up.
