Craving

I know that I'm craving something this pregnancy, but I haven't figured it out. Every time I think I've got it nailed down and eat what ever the food was, I still come away unsatisfied. I'm stumped. With Elijah, it was apples. With Luke, is was Cherry Pepsi and a fat, juicy peach, which I never got being that he was a May baby. With Isaac, it was anything I could keep down as I was nauseous through almost the entire pregnancy. Ha, ha! Actually, nothing comes to memory with Isaac...but I do remember enjoying tons of fresh summer fruit in my last trimester with him, my August baby.

My past couple posts have involved food...maybe it's because I'm obsessed with satisfying my craving. Maybe it's because I have nothing else to write about...not really. Maybe it's because I wanted to post about food that wasn't just junk food like my posts about cinnamon rolls, corn flakes, chips, hot dogs, lemonade, etc. We do generally eat better than this...but only funny things happen with junk food! Maybe it's because eating is the only thing I am doing consistently around my house...except housing dust bunnies and clutter. Well, school is actually going smoothly, but for the sake of drama, let's pretend my previous statement was the only truth.

Anyhow, here's a quick lunch idea that I enjoy frequently...and my boy's version below. I'm hungry right now. Too bad I ran out of flour tortillas yesterday.

Cheese Quesadilla made with 2 flour tortillas and shredded cheese in between melted in a skillet on medium heat. If I have black beans or leftover chicken on hand, I throw a handful of those in the cheese as well. Cut into triangles, dip in salsa and enjoy!

Here's the boy's version - compliments of my mom - Peanut Butter Raisin Tortillas. Spread PB on half of a flour tortilla, sprinkle with raisins, fold in half and cut into triangles. Makes a great change from the ordinary PBJ. Of course, you can make this even healthier by using whole wheat or multi grain tortillas.

I'm definitely headed to the store...

I always crave citrus early in my pregnancies, this time it was grapefruit. (with catie it was Lemons...I ate them like an orange.)

Then I went through a Cranberry-Apple tea phase. it helped with the nausea.

Now I just want subs from the local market. Even thinking about food/dinner prep makes me nauseous and i'm 14 weeks. usually that doesn't last this long for me.

I hope you figure out what it is that you're craving.
