School Schedule

We're midway through week five of school, our routine is hit or miss, but we're thriving and enjoying the process. I always intend to NOT fill up our weekly schedule with "stuff" so we can be home, be flexible and be relaxed. This fall we are participating in a few activities outside of our home. Here is the basic outline of our school week. It looks all perfect and peachy keen, but this is very flexible and more often than not, we fudge the times. But, it is the goal that I strive for each day.

Monday:
9:00am - 11:00am: lessons
12:40pm - 3:00pm: homeschool co-op/group lessons
4:00pm - 5:00pm: lessons

Tuesday:
10:00am - 11:00am: learn to skate for hockey
1:00pm - 4:00pm: lessons
6:30pm - 8:00pm: science with daddy

Wednesday:
9:00am - 10:00am: lessons
10:00am - 11:00am: piano lessons (at home)
1:00pm - 3:00pm: lessons

Thursday:
9:00am - 12:00pm: lessons
1:00pm - 2:00pm: history

Friday:
9:00 - 12:00pm: lessons
1:00pm - 2:00pm: history

Anything that falls into lessons includes: language arts (phonics, handwriting, spelling, grammar, poetry memorization, writing, independent reading), math, art, piano practice, geography games.

Daily activities that don't fall into the lessons category include: Bible time/prayer, reading time with mama (related to something we're studying), reading time with daddy (classic children's novels or character building novels), outdoor play/PE.

Often we go on a field trip/outing at some point during the week whether scheduled with our homeschool co-op, with friends or on our own.

Our days are busy and full even when we stay home for the whole day! I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach my children and learn alongside them. It is by God's grace and provision that we are finding success in our homeschool endeavor. All the credit goes to Him!
