Last night, I accidentally deleted my blog. This blog. As soon as I realized what I did, I started sobbing and crying out to God to help me fix it. Two plus years of our family's story gone. It felt like someone kicked me in the gut and kept kicking and kicking and kicking. Wow! I didn't know how much this record of our family really meant to me until it was gone. I've treated this blog as my "journal." Something that we can read as our children grow to remember the past. Our digital storybook. Our life.
Elijah, 5 yrs. oldI ran upstairs to wake Mike (it was midnight) and he worked on it for an hour. He finally found a Google page where you could request their help to recover your account. We submitted the request and prayed. I fell asleep helpless and hopeless with puffy eyes, a stuffy nose, and a tear-stained pillow.
Rescued and recovered. Helped and Hopeful. Simple as that.
I keep thinking about how I couldn't fix my error on my own. No matter what I did or tried, it didn't work. No matter what Mike did for me, it didn't work. Isn't that like our life without Christ?! We can't save ourselves no matter what we say or do. No one else can save us either. We need a rescuer. What is even more amazing is that Christ died on the cross for us "while we were yet sinners" (Romans 5:8).
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." John 3:16-17
We don't deserve the gift of eternal life, but God gives it freely to anyone who believes, admits their sin, and commits to living their life for God's honor and glory.
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life." (Revelation 22:17; see also John 4:7-14)

I heard that there is a way that you can order a hard copy of your blog. I am not sure how to do it, but I think my friend knows, I can ask her if you are interested. If you order it once a year (not sure how expensve it is), you will have a hard copy of your blog, which I think would be so neat(and give you peace of mind) :)
Oh my goodness! That would have been terrible! Have you ever looked into getting your blog printed into a book? One of my friends did that and it turned out really nicely. I don't know how much it cost. I think she used blurb.com.

Hooray glad it was restored, I totally understand what you mean about a journal for your kids, that's what our family blog is about, like my version of scrapbooking although I've been a little slack.
